Flower Longhorn - Typocerus zebra

Flower Longhorn - Typocerus zebra
Auburn, Lee County, Alabama, USA
May 20, 2005
My ID from Bugguide images is Flower Longhorn - Typocerus zebra.
Early morning dew obscures some of the features however would like confirmation.

Yes, I think so--moved to guide
Yes, looks like T. zebra. The yellow triangles at the front of the elytra is distinctive.

This seems to be the first Typocerus out in spring.

Dang! You guys are good.
Flicking back from photographs to suggestion I have no objection. More importantly for me it opens up a whole new set of possibilities, which come rather quickly on the syrphid/asilid differences, which themselves come not so much later on the hymenoptera/diptera differences.

Many thanks.
