Orb weaver spider with orange belly - Leucauge venusta

Orb weaver spider with orange belly - Leucauge venusta
Fairfield, Wayne County, Illinois, USA
April 22, 2008
Found in wetland woods.

Moved
Moved from Spiders.

An
orchard spider.

Hmmf!
I see the similarities in the orange spot but very different from the ones I imaged last year. None of the blue/yellow markings on the abdomen. Just drab brown.

Maybe It's Not
an Adult. Spiders can change colors from hatching to adulthood when they molt. That is my guess, but let an expert say for sure.
