This pupa was under the same piece of pine bark as a Xylophagus larva.

I had an "identical" pupae emerge as a Xylophagid fly this spring, so I would say this is the same as the larva.

 
I'm hoping it emerges for me
It's most likely a Xylophagid, but probably different than the other one I found with it, since the size difference is over 10mm.
