Vegas Red Dragonfly - Male
Corn Creek, outside Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, USA

Size: 10cm wingspan
I stopped into the Corn Creek Field Station (BLM Northwest of Vegas) before heading out to the desert to get photos of cactus flowers, and came across this beauty. I waited patiently for him to come back to the spot he was circling and snapped these photos.

Libellula saturata, in the guide here
