Size: 3-4cm
While out fossil hunting I kept hearing something large buzzing by. There were so many of them, all flying in an eastern direction. I finally saw one land and went over to inspect it. I had no idea what it was, with a head and thorax like a wasp, but with beetle wings. It let me get very close. Good thing I did't try to touch it! I assume it was a male, it was quite large, correct me if I'm wrong.
