Wierd Fly

Wierd Fly
Dixie Plantation, Charleston County, South Carolina, USA
May 4, 2008
Size: 2mm body
This landed on my arm while I was hiking. It looked like a tick with wings. I think it is a fly from the head and wings.

Moved
Moved from Louse Flies.

Reminds us of
Hippoboscidae, see

Seconded.
Creepy, aren't they? (I'm not a fan of ticks, either.)
