Unknown Digger - Psyche casta

Unknown Digger - Psyche casta
Rockaway Township, Rockaway, Morris County, New Jersey, USA
May 6, 2008
Size: about one half inch
I get them every year.
They bury their head in the wood. They seem to only attack wood that has been painted white.
The one on the left has dug in.
The one on the right just arrived and hasn't dug his head in yet.
