Assassin Bug - Doldina interjungens

Assassin Bug - Doldina interjungens
Cedar Keys, Levy County, Florida, USA
July 12, 1925
Size: 20 mm
This is Doldina interjugens Bergroth, the sole member of the genus in Nearctic North America. It was collected by TH Hubbell and determined by Bergroth, Hussey, & Elkins. When determined to be Harpactorinae, the long, skinny body (over 5.5-6 times as long as greatest width) is diagnostic. I've included a lateral shot of the head so it the general reduviid characteristic can be seen.
