Size: 20 mm
This Rice Beetle was found, somewhat moribund, at a lighted window. I had not seen the species before, but probably overlooked it, thinking it was a Sugarcane Beetle, Euetheola humilis. I noticed this was larger (20 mm) than that species (15 mm) and more flattened--Euetheola is almost cylindrical. I captured it for some detail shots, attempting to follow the description by Harpootlian (1). By the look of the front tarsi--not highly expanded--it appears to be a female.
