Anthrax

Anthrax
San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, USA
May 13, 2008

ID
This is a Bombyliid. Hard to do much better than Anthracinae (sensu Yeates: includes Aphoebantus, Exoprosopa, Villa, Anthrax). I would guess Anthrax, based on the very long legs and the head more globular than hemispherical.

Andy-Thanks! Anthrax it is.

Fly, I'd guess.
Perhaps a bee fly, judging from abdomen, posture, and wings. ID will likely be tough on this one.

Ron- Please look at toxomerus
