Small beetle
Lagunitas, Marin County, California, USA
May 10, 2008
Size: ~2-3 mm.
Tiny beetle found on flower in redwood forest. Don't know the flower ID. Is this one of the flea beetles?

Scraptiidae
but can say nothing more than that.

Not a leaf beetle
It looks more like a scraptiid or melandryid.

I was not able to get a dorsal photo, so I understand that an ID may not be possible. Feel free to frass as needed...
