In our area, 3 genera each with 1 species: Axymyia furcata McAtee 1921; Plesioaxymyia vespertina Sinclair 2013; Protaxymyia thuja Fitzgerald and Wood 2014; Total of 8 spp. in 4 genera (extant) worldwide (1)

Range

Holarctic & Oriental; in NA, Axymyia furcata widespread in the east (QC-so.ON to GA), Plesioaxymyia vespertina in WA & AK, and Protaxymyia thuja in OR & WA
