Butterfly-like moth - Trichodezia albovittata

Butterfly-like moth - Trichodezia albovittata
Thompson WMA, Fauquier County, Virginia, USA
May 15, 2008
Size: Small
This interesting moth was coming to dung with butterflies in the late morning. It looked and behaved very much like a butterfly, but is clearly a moth judging by its antennae and it does not look like any butterfly species I know of.
