Close wasp mimic - Laphria saffrana

Size: 21 mm
This fly was spotted in a mixed deciduous and lightly interspersed pine forest. It was sunning itself waiting for a fly to catch. My dung bait for beetles was attracting a crowd of mixed flies which I believe attracted this robber fly.
