Is this the bug they put in Chekov's ear in that Star Trek Movie? - Pyractomena

Is this the bug they put in Chekov's ear in that Star Trek Movie? - Pyractomena
Buxton, York County, Maine, USA
May 9, 2008
Size: 1" to 1.25"
I have never seen anything like this before. Its head is completely retractable as seen in the second image. I'm having a hard time keying this out. When walking, it would curl its abdomen underneath itself and push-off. This inscet was found on the garage floor.
