Magicicada sp., BROOD XIV (2008)
Time for me to eat Crow! - I made a mistake ;) - but fortunately in reviewing, I caught it.
Given the date of 17 May 2008 & the Locality, this is in all likelihood a Magicicada molt! Firstly these cicadas emerge in late spring early summer depending on brood, latitude and altitude (daily temp's generally play a major role in timing). Secondly 2008 was the year of BROOD XIV (emergence in all of the following states: KY, GA, IN, MA, MD, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, TN, VA, & WV)
