Found on debarked section of standing dead (girdled) hardwood tree, at base. Hardwood forest.

Nice shot of what is probably Xylotrechus annosus annosus. At least it compares favorably with the image in Yanega's book:-) You might wait for Ted MacRae to verify, though.
