What's up with the water under the abdomen? Looks like it's taking a leak :-/

Male longlegged fly.
Nice shot of a male fly in the Dolichopodidae. That is not water you are seeing. It is the shiny reflection off the claspers, which in many dolichopodids are enlarged greatly and carried curled underneath the abdomen like this. Very good image!
