Parasitic Wood Wasp - Orussus - Male

Size: 10mm approximately
From the same location as , five days later.
This individual, and several others I photographed, has a black abdomen with white stripes, rather than the completely red abdomen of the individual noted above. Both morphs were evident on the same log, so I'm guessing this is a male and the red-abdomen morph is female, as I saw them backing into holes in the log, apparently laying.
