Robber fly - Ospriocerus type? - Archilestris magnificus

Robber fly - Ospriocerus type? - Archilestris magnificus
Ash Canyon, Hereford, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
September 2, 2007
Sorry about the poor photo. From looking at similar insects on Bug Guide, an Ospriocerus type robber fly would be my best guess. Can anyone ID it to species...?

ID
I would say Archilestris magnificus. It's spectacular. Not such a bad photo either.

Thanks Andy!
It was a truly stunning insect, but I only got a few seconds look and this one shot before it took off, never to be seen again.
