or C. cacti?
Did you see the underside of this beetle? Unless it had a red abdomen and black thorax, it can't safely be ID'd as C. stigma in Texas. While Gordon's 1985 map shows C. cacti's Texas range being limited to the southern part of the state, BG has a C. cacti from Oklahoma (confirmed by ventral photo showing red thorax and abdomen). I don't think C. stigma and C. cacti are separable solely by range in Texas; a photo or description of the venter is necessary.
