Too Cool!!
This little guy is a round fungus beetle in the family Anisotomidae (or Leiodidae, depending on the authority consulted). I have only found one myself, in a park in Cincinnati. Way to go to capture the behavior, too! Nice job.

Mitey small
I think I found another once, viewed it with pocket loupe sufficiently to conclude it was a beetle, but lost it (or lost *sight* of it at any rate) before I could try photographing it. Then when I saw shiny, black round mites under bark, I was naturally sure I had re-discovered the tiny round fungus beetle. Oh well ... At least I got the real thing this time! Thanks for the ID Eric.
