treehopper of some kind. - Ceresa borealis
Seymour, Sevier County, Tennessee, USA
May 27, 2008
I came across this cool treehopper or leafhopper (not sure which) and would love to know the species.

Moved

Ceresa borealis
... also called Hadrophallus borealis; but probably the accurate name should be Ceresa bubalus although for very many years this was inaccurately applied to the buffalo treehopper, C. alta.

The very large, curving horns are similar to those of C. stimulea, but the color is all green.

For more information, please contact me at hamiltona AT agr.gc.ca

a Ceresa
..i'd say
