Zebra Swallowtail Larvae - Eurytides marcellus

Zebra Swallowtail Larvae - Eurytides marcellus
Franklin, Tennessee, USA
May 30, 2008
I've been rearing these cats that I found in a pawpaw patch near our house. They are looking good, the two largest being just under an inch long (approx 0.9 in) in the picture, stretching to at least an inch long when moving around.

Very nice
Please include a date for the sake of our data map. Hope to see more of these as they grow, too.

OK
but it says to specify the date only for wild specimens. But I'll include the date the pic was taken. I'll post pics as they grow, pupate and then eventually emerge.

These are wild specimens
- you collected them in the wild, so they are following their usual seasonal cycle. The exception is for out-of-season bugs - e.g. a chrysalis that hatched early because it was kept inside a house, butterflies raised in exhibits, or eggs laid by a captive insect at a time it would normally be dormant.

Thanks
for clearing that up, I get it now.
