Saw your question on the other image
and took another look at this, but keep striking out. We would say Araneus. But it doesn't have the legs of trifolium or marmoreus. We were thinking thaddeus, but the head looks too dark and hairy. Sorry we couldn't be of more help.

Female Foliate (Larinioides cornutus) maybe? Have had several males hanging around the back porch.

 
I think you're on to something...
I see a lot of similarities. Might be some others that are also similar though. You're on the right track.

"Faded" was probably the wrong word to use earlier. "Worn" is more appropriate. Markings are mostly provided by scales, which can wear off over time and make identification of even the easiest specimens very difficult without microscopic examination. See my image and notes here.

 
Interesting, we never would have thought that,
but it does seem like a likely candidate. It will be interesting to see what the spider experts say. It may help them to get an image of the web if she's still around. What a lovely creature!
