Balclutha impicta (Van Duzee 1892)
Size
2.5-4 mm (females are larger than males)
Identification
Sometimes this species has spotted wings, and sometimes not. The very short head, which is also much narrower than the thorax, is distinctive for this species in eastern North America. In the west there is a look-alike, B. manitou.
