not strongylium
Looks more like Eupsophulus (pimeliinae: vacronini). These are quite common in the spring-early summer in the Tucson area.

Quite sure you are correct. This individual still appears a bit teneral, as all specimens I have ever seen have been black.

 
Not teneral
I collected several, they all had reddish-brown extremities. the elytra of these have a granulated pattern, all the ones in the guide show striped textures. This seems to be a species not yet in the guide
