Platycercus virescens - Platycerus virescens - Male

Size: > 12 mm
If you look hard, you can imagine that this male is very dark green, hence the name. This one is the only representative of its species I've found in southern New Hampshire (or anywhere), versus thousands of the somewhat larger Ceruchus piceus.
