stink bug?

Um...I think this is a stink bug, but that's as far as I can get...

Not an expert but...
Please see Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (Halyomorpha halys)

Ron, that looks about right--
Ron, that looks about right--do you think I should leave it here in ID req, or go ahead and move it to H. halys?

Although I am pretty sure...
It is always best to wait for an expert to confirm this. We really don't want images placed in the wrong species.

I'll take the heat.
We don't have a resident pentatomid expert, unfortunately, but this looks to me to be pretty conclusively H. halys. The location is also one that may already be documented. In any event, there are USDA people using our Bugguide entries for this species to help monitor its range expansions. If this is NOT H. halys, they'll correct it.

thanks Eric
I'll move this one to that section...btw, I had LOADS of these show up to my mercury vapor lamp that night. I'm on the western edge of NJ, just across from Bucks Cty PA an the northern-most parts of Philadelphia, in the event that the USDA wants to take a peek!
