Microdon Magazine - Microdon

Microdon Magazine - Microdon
Mt Magazine State Park, Logan County, Arkansas, USA
May 31, 2008
Size: 15mm
Microdon. Damn these things are hard to find. And then I go to Mount Magazine and they are vermin. Also the most ant infested wonderland I have seen in awhile. No wonder. I took one but I did not have my Harvard vials on me. Gary you should send some vials to Don Simons who is the resident ranger up on the park hilltop.

Hilltopping?
I wonder if these flies do the "hilltopping" behavior. I know many other kinds of flies do that. Very interesting!
