Explanation of Names
From Greek parthenos (παρθενοσ) virgin, plus genesis (γενεσισ) creation (Wikipedia).
Identification
parthenogenesis noun, adjective parthenogenic or parthenogenetic - an asexual form of reproduction found in females where growth and development of embryos or seeds occurs without fertilization by males (Wikipedia). See agamy for examples among insects.
