grasshopper - Schistocerca

grasshopper - Schistocerca
st. pete, pinellas County, Florida, USA
June 6, 2008
Size: 1.3 inches
ID please?

Nymph.
This is a nice shot of a nymph of a species of "bird grasshopper" in the genus Schistocerca. The large size, relatively tapered, streamlined appearance, and the striped eyes all help ID it.
