Syrphid Larvae

Size: Very tiny

I found this on a Gerbera Daisy eating aphids in the afternoon. The poor image quality is due to my lack of skills and lack of proper camera equipment. I promise never to post anything of such poor quality again. I thought it was a ladybug larvae but I have seen those little alligators running around. I've searched and searched...Please...I'm curious as to what it is.

Possible hover fly larvae

I found a photo on the Kendall-Bioresearch site that has a photo of a hover fly larvae eating an aphid. It looks very similar to mine.

I don't think your picture is THAT bad. Taking pictures is the only way we learn how to do it. My first submission was awful but I think they're getting better. As for ID, the eating aphids part should help -- there's only one moth in the world that does that, and it's called the Harvester.
