I'm curious, too. The coloring looks like a Paraphlepsius, but the abdomen is not tapered and has those strong spines. What plant did you find it on?

 
grass of some kind
I posted an additional uncropped image that shows the plant more clearly. I don't know the specific species of grass, but I found the hopper nymph it right at base of one of nodes.
