Yes, a weevil
... and it appears to be Sciaphilus asperatus.

 
Why Sciaphilus?
Why Sciaphilus in particular? Calomycterus looks about the same to my non-expert eye.

 
Several differences I noticed
in the habitus of the two species ... the distribution of maculation (spotting) - in Calomycterus, heavy over the pronotum and between the elytral striae; none in Sciaphilus. The antennae are longer, heavier, and setaceous in Calomycterus, whereas they are bare in Sciaphilus. Also, pale scutellum in Calomycterus, and non-existent (or at least very small) in Sciaphilus.
