This guy apparently hitched a ride on an extension cord that I had just used outside, and had brought back into the basement. As I was putting up the cord, I noticed him crawling along and I wanted to move him back out into the yard--I imagine the hunting is better out there. I couldn't get a very good picture because he was kind of nervous. Every time that I got too near him with the camera, he would immediately flip around and show me his backside (maybe he was mooning me). Most jumping spiders that I've held seem more willing to play, and will crawl and jump around on my hands and arms, checking things out. Not him--he would always quickly jump off me and onto the basil plant.
