Sawfly - female

Sawfly - Female
Lexington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
May 14, 2008
Maybe a parasitic wasp of family Braconidae?

It was on a table in an Italian restaurant at lunch, so who knows if it's native or flew in with the food.

Moved
Moved from Nematus.

If so, the correct genus has been Euura since revision from 2014.

Moved
Moved from Common Sawflies.

A Sawfly of the family Tenthredinidae (female)
Long antennae and undivided marginal cell of forewing suggest subfamily Nematinae. As larvae feed on green plants' leaves, e.g. on willow trees, it seems doubtful that this insect flew in with the food.

Nematus (N. ribesii??)
