Bug on Cactus03 - Narnia

Bug on Cactus03 - Narnia
Williamson County, Texas, USA
March 11, 2006
This bug was doing "something" on prickly pear cactus...is it ovipositing? I had intended to send it in promptly, but managed to misplace the image for a couple of years (duh!) You can see that the flower buds are just beginning to show--it will be weeks before the cactus flowers. Only early wildflowers are out that early in March--Mexican plum, wild onion, anemones, a few others.

Yeah
This can be moved to Narnia.

See what you think of Narnia,

Thanks, Balabans
You guys are incredibly fast. When I get over the shock of having a bug genus named Narnia (I met the books before the bug; now my husband and I both want to know which came first, bug Narnia or magical land Narnia), yes, I see the resemblance.

Bug wins!
I know your comment was posted over 6 months ago but I figured I'd still mention it for anyone else who looks at this photo and wonders...

Stal erected the genus Narnia in 1862. C. S. Lewis wrote The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in 1950, I believe. In fact, C. S. Lewis wasn't even born till 30 years after the genus was created (he was born in 1898).
