Unknown eggs in May- update 2 -
Automeris io
Cass County, Texas, USA
June 11, 2008
Size: 1/4"
Here is an update on the Unknown eggs in May. They seem to be doing ok on the fresh foliage I am providing. Looks like I might get lucky and they will continue thriving.

Great series,
But the dates on a couple of images, #3 and #7, are confusing. Do you mind checking them and fixing them? Thanks.

I am not sure where the confusion comes from. I checked and the dates seem ok to me.

Dates
If you found the eggs on May 22 and they hatched 10 days later the earlier instar (image #3) wouldn't be also May 22 but June 2 or so. You are right about #7, I didn't realize that they were more mature caterpillars; the rest makes sense too.

I see what you meant and you
I see what you meant and you were correct. I did have the wrong date on #3 but I have corrected it now. Thanks for the notification.

You can see here: http://bugguide.net/node/view/405/bgpage
Good luck rearing them, make sure you keep the host plant fresh (just becuase it looks fresh doesn't mean it is).
