Deceptive Nymphs

Deceptive Nymphs
College Station, Brazos County, Texas, USA
November 29, 1999
When I first saw these little ones all over my passion flower vine, I was so happy because I thought they were assassin nymphs (Zelus longipes). As they molted,I noticed that their beaks were longer than they should be, they eventually molted into a dark grey color, and the distinctive "leaf-foot" started to form! But, in the front yard, I finally did have some baby "sasses" of whom I don't have any pictures of.
