Hololepta lucida

Hololepta lucida
Parkwood, Durham County, North Carolina, USA
June 6, 2008
Size: 8mm
This was flying around on my front porch during the day--it might have been attracted to a light the previous evening. The line down the length of the side of the elytra indicates this is not Hololepta aequalis, compare:

Now North Carolina State University lists H. aequalis (18 specimens) and lucida (9 specimens) for that state. If this is to be believed, this is very likely Hololepta lucida. Brimley, p. 150 (1), does list lucida from nearby Raleigh in July, so I think I'm safe on this one.

This is one of the few Hololepta we have on BugGuide from the Southeast.
