Size: 5-6 mm
Under bark of beetle-rich dead tree. It wouldn't stop moving so I could escape motion-blur in my image. I didn't have my closeup flash with me.

see the swellings just beneath the head? This guy has a pair of forcipules, and thus is probably not a symphylan.

Yeah... I've never seen one so small before. :)
Allot of centipedes have some level of parental care, usually consisting of mother guarding eggs and freshly hatched young.
