Leaf footed bugs - Leptoglossus zonatus

Leaf footed bugs - Leptoglossus zonatus
Tempe, AZ, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA
June 13, 2008
Size: 22 to 25 mm
I had never seen bugs like this before. They left brown spots on the fruits. Where they spawning, feeding or ?? I have no clue but I am not an entomologist.

Leaffooted bug
I have also found these on the Pomegranites growing in Las Vegas, Nevada

Thanks for such a great bug site. I use it all the time.

Feeding.
Yes, they were feeding. Mating pairs are united "tail-to-tail" going in opposite directions. They might do some mild cosmetic damage to the fruit as a result of their feeding, but otherwise are fairly innocuous. Genus is Leptoglossus, will move to species page soon as we have additional images in the guide already. Thanks for sharing!

Leptoglossus zonatus is a good match
