Size: 1/2" head to end
I saw a good number of these on my window today. It at first looked like a yellowjacket or wasp, but it had no wings to fly.

Well, I'll have to find out what type of tree it is we have in the back yard now to see if these may cause harm.

From what I've read they don't do damage to a house, so I hope I don't have to worry too much over them being at that window (old wooden frame window).

perhaps some sort of soldier beetle? it probably does have wings
