Stone Fly - Sweltsa

Stone Fly - Sweltsa
Sitka County, Alaska, USA
June 11, 2008
A local aquatic insect enthusiast told me this was probably in Chloroperlidae, most likely genus Sweltsa (there are several species he has found in local streams). I'm not sure the exact size, but it is sitting on a hand lens, so it's probably less than 1 inch long.

Seems like a good call
I don't know your Alaskan Chloroperlidae well enough to say anything definitive, but it does look like Sweltsa. For now, I'd trust your local enthusiast; he seems to know whereof he speaks.
