Drapetes geminatus
I believe this is a click beetle - Drapetes geminatus Say 1825. There's a b/w illustration in White's ref., and genus key and species description in Downie and Arnett(1). Both of those references include this genus in the family Throscidae. But American Beetles and Nearctica place it in Elateridae, under the Subfamily Lissominae, Tribe Lissomini (only NAmer genus), so that's what I'd suggest we follow here at BugGuide.

nice find, and another new species for BugGuide :)

Thank you
Thanks Tim!
