Japanese Beetle - Popillia japonica

Japanese Beetle - Popillia japonica
Norris City, White County, Illinois, USA
June 17, 2008
This was the first I've seen of what, usually, are large groups of Japanese Beetles that infest my local area.

Fewer now?
There aren't a lot of posts on these, but I guess that's to be expected.

When I was growing up in Ohio in the fifties, these guys were all over the place. It was common practice to have a coffee can filled with noxious liquid in the garden, to be used to execute the hapless beetles we'd pick off our plants.
