Stinkbug nymph? - Chlorochroa

Stinkbug nymph? - Chlorochroa
Williamson County, Texas, USA
December 31, 1969
Size: 3/8 inch
This bug was out in midafternoon, in very hot (near or at 100 degrees F) weather, the day after an overnight brief rain. It was in the shade of a juniper tree, moving fairly quickly over the leaf litter, but pausing now and then. I was unable to get a better picture of it. (Was having some problems with the heat, due to not taking water along today...duh! Creates much more hand tremor. The other shots are worse.)

I've never seen another bug quite like it, but after looking at the stink bug images here, it reminded me most of in shape and "layout" of the pattern, though not in the same colors.

Chlorchroa?
Reminds me very much of some species in the genus Chlorochroa.

If I had to guess...
I would say Stink Bug nymph...

But more importantly, you might want to get yourself a "camelbak" backpack. Walmart sells something like it also. Basically a backpack with water and a drinking tube that goes over your shoulder...

Even have room for rain gear and an MRE in the cargo compartments.
