Could They be Robber Flies? - Mydas chrysostomus - Male Female

I have been seeing these for a few weeks.
I have not gotten a nice sharp shot ... yet.
I am hoping that maybe these are good enough for an ID.

They act a lot like Robber Flies, including lots of perching.
They are quite wary and I don't get very close.

The larger one is about 2 inches long.

Which is the guy and which is the gal?

I will add a picture of the face of the smaller one.

Sure do look similar
The antennae and hind leg thighs seem the same and somewhat distinctive.
I am surprised that the two in my picture are such different sizes and your two are almost the same size and color pattern.
I have seen other individuals of the both sizes in the same area. The larger ones always have a lot more orange than the smaller ones.

Note also that yours and others in BugGuide seem to have the orange on only one segment. In my photo, the large one with orange seems to have it on maybe 3 segments.

Size Difference
I did see another pair in the same area as these two, and they were like yours, i.e., one big and the other one much smaller.
