Glischrochilus confluentus (Say) - Glischrochilus confluentus - female

Glischrochilus confluentus (Say) - Glischrochilus confluentus - Female
Hemlock Draw, Sauk County, Wisconsin, USA
October 24, 2000
Size: 6 mm
This specimen was collected by my good friend Jeff Gruber. It was collected on a moist decaying fungus on a fallen tree within a Northern mesic hardwood forest.

Excellent!
Now we have the true confluentus.

Any comments as to how regularly this beetle is collected/encountered.

You can bet
that if there is only one image of G. confluentus posted on Bug Guide, which has over 136,000 images of US and Canadian beetles and over 260 photos of genus Glischrochilus, that it is seldom encountered, so findng and photographing it is a worthy personal goal.
